This book outlines the history of Judah’s corrupt and idolatrous kings. There were good kings, who brought revival, and bad kings, who created a downward spiral of chaos, destruction and eventually captivity. Ezra, a humble and obedient man, wrote this book to bring the nation back to God by reminding them of their past. He tried to show them that you only prosper by following God.
This piece is horizontal because it shows a personal journey of coming to have a relationship with God, moving from the grayness of the world’s temporary treasures and then turning to God and seeing the colorful beauty of eternity with Him.
Using the verse from 2 Chronicles 7:14, I made the “IF” bigger because God gives us a choice. Will we turn away from the world’s ideas and follow Him?
