I’ve lived in the country for many years now and every summer I look forward to when the fireflys appear. Typically it’s when I’m driving home in the dark and all of the sudden there is a flurry of activity and little lights amongst grasses and wildflowers on side of the road! It’s such a magical image and so elusive. I finally attempted to paint this scene from memory and am thrilled when people react so happily to it!
